Position Function:
The technical writing lecturer is under the administrative supervision of the Dean of the Bagley College of Engineering but reports directly to the Technical Communications Coordinator. This is a parttime non tenuretrack 9month position. Duties include teaching technical writing courses supervising tutors and assisting faculty in enhancing the communicationrelated content in the engineering curriculum.
Salary Grade:UC
For salary grade UC these positions are Unclassified and salary ranges are determined by the hiring department.

Essential Duties and Responsibilities:
1. Teach technical writing.
2. Assists engineering faculty in enhancing the writing and speaking in the courses.
Minimum Qualifications:
Masters degree in English or other writing discipline with experience teaching writing at the college level.
Knowledge Skills and Abilities:
Knowledge of best practices in teaching including implementing active learning strategies.
Ability to grade writing for grammar and mechanics as well as a conciseness and clarity.
Knowledge of learning management systems such as Canvas.
Excellent organizational skills.
Excellent written and oral communication skills.
Selfmotivated and detailoriented.
Working Conditions and Physical Effort
Work is normally performed in a typical interior/office work environment.
No or very limited exposure to physical risk.
Limited physical effort required.
Vision requirements: Ability to see information in print and/or electronically.
