Customer Experience Director Interior Design & A&D

Location: Irvington NJ InPerson Full time
Salary: $125K$175K (Based on Experience)

Position Overview

Are you passionate about interior design and experienced in the Architectural & Design (A&D) community We are seeking a handson gogetter Customer Service Operations Manager with expertise in design construction materials or related trades (e.g. flooring tile & marble kitchen cabinets lighting) to lead our customer service and support operations. This role involves managing key client relationships with dealers architects and designers driving operational excellence and working crossfunctionally with sales R&D and production teams.

Key Responsibilities

  • Lead & Train: Manage and mentor a highperforming customer service team and related support staff.
  • Client Relations: Build strong lasting relationships with dealers architects and designers through regular inperson visits and proactive support.
  • Operations & Strategy: Optimize workflows manage ticketing/project management systems and drive process improvements to enhance customer service performance.
  • Data & Reporting: Utilize tools like Excel to analyze performance metrics and generate actionable reports.
  • CrossDepartment Collaboration: Work closely with sales R&D and production managers to ensure cohesive strategies and excellent customer experiences.

MustHaves

  • Passion for A&D: Strong background and genuine interest in working within the A&D community.
  • Industry Experience: Proven experience in customer service operations within construction design or related industries.
  • Leadership: Demonstrated ability to lead and mentor teams independently.
  • Client Relationship Skills: Expertise in developing and nurturing client relationships with a focus on building rapport with dealers and design professionals.
  • Analytical Proficiency: Advanced Excel skills and the ability to transform complex data into clear actionable insights.

Qualifications

  • 5 years of experience in customer service operations or related roles ideally in industries such as custom cabinetry flooring tile & marble kitchen cabinets or lighting.
  • Experience working directly with the A&D community.
  • Excellent communication negotiation and interpersonal skills.
  • Proven ability to manage operational processes document performance and optimize workflows.
  • Detailoriented with strong task management and organizational skills.
