Description

Integrated Primary Care Psychologist Position

Nemours Childrens Health Delaware (previously Nemours/A. I. duPont Hospital for Children) invites applicants for two fulltime integrated primary care psychologist positions. We have an over 20year history of providing integrated behavioral health services as part of interprofessional teams in our network of Nemours pediatric primary clinics throughout the state of Delaware and are excited to expand our team.

The psychologists in these positions will join pediatric primary care teamscomprised of physicians medical residents behavioral health providers nurses medical assistants and care coordinators who provide teambased care to patients and their families.

Applicants may split their time across two of the following clinics (e.g. 2 clinical days in each clinic):

  • Nemours Childrens Health Jessup Street: The Jessup St. clinic located in urban Wilmington serves a predominantly Black/AfricanAmerican Medicaidinsured patient population. NemoursJessup St. is an active training clinic with medical residents and psychology residents and fellows rotating throughout the year.
  • Nemours Childrens Health Becks Woods: The Becks Woods clinic located just outside of Newark Delaware serves a diverse patient population including 44 White/Caucasian; 39 Black/AfricanAmerican; 11 Latine with 54 of families using commercial insurance and 42 Medicaid. The Becks Woods practice also has colocated therapy services onsite including speech occupational and physical therapies creating a wonderful opportunity for collaboration.
  • Nemours Childrens Health Middletown: The Middletown clinic is located in the southern part of New Castle County in a quickly developing area of Middletown. This large primary care clinic serves 56 white/Caucasian; 29 Black/AfricanAmerican; 12 Asian/Pacific Islander 8 Hispanic/Latinx with 71 of families using commercial insurance and 25 Medicaid.
  • Nemours Childrens Health St. Francis:The St. Francis clinic is located in urban Wilmington and serves 57 Hispanic or Latinx backgrounds 5727 white/Caucasian; 33 Black/AfricanAmerican with over 33 of families identifying as monolingual Spanish. Over 81 of families use Medicaid and 18 commercial insurance. Every primary care provider and most staff are bilingual EnglishSpanish. This clinic also serves as a main psychology training site for our Bilingual Supervision Program.

Teaching training and mentoring are core values in our division and these efforts are supported and encouraged across all positions. We are committed to expanding the pathway to a diverse workforce and our educational efforts are grounded in and guided by a lens of health equity diversity inclusion and cultural humility.

This role includes many opportunities to participate in program development leadership advocacy and community outreach. In addition there will be opportunities for quality improvement and research initiatives. Our division collaborates with our research colleagues in the Nemours Center for Healthcare Delivery Science Psychologists are members of the medical staff at Nemours Childrens Hospital Delaware and are supported with applying for an academic appointment through the Sidney Kimmel Medical College at Thomas Jefferson University.
