Amazon Photos is looking for an experienced Software Development Engineer to join the AI/ML inference team as we continue to push the boundaries of whats possible with computer vision and deep learning technologies for Amazon Photos. In this role you will have the opportunity to build exciting features being built by Amazon photos using AI/ML technologies and delight our large customer base by providing them with fulfilling customer experiences. We have challenging tasks ahead in our roadmap in problem spaces like image and video understanding Semantic and natural language search and we are looking for an engineer to spearhead development of these features.

Key job responsibilities
* You will work on a backend team building new experiences and features for the Photos product.
* You will develop computer vision and AI/ML based solutions using the latest technologies and design them to operate efficiently at a high scale.
* Your solutions will help resolve product and architectural deficiencies.
* You will work closely with business product and technical stakeholders investigate design approaches evaluate technical feasibility and drive measurable success.
* You will work in an agile environment to deliver highquality software with a limited guidance.
* You will contribute to improving engineering test and operational excellence best practices on your team. Youll help define standards and implement them as well.

One of our top priorities is scaling our semantic natural language search feature across the U.S. and international markets. This will involve leveraging advanced AI and machine learning capabilities to power enhanced search and memory generation for our customers. Were particularly excited about the potential of large language models (LLMs) to improve natural language understanding and enable new user experiences. We also plan to expand our understanding of images and videos extracting additional signals from them to drive better customer experiences.


3 years of noninternship professional software development experience
2 years of noninternship design or architecture (design patterns reliability and scaling) of new and existing systems experience
Experience programming with at least one modern language such as Java C or C# including objectoriented design

3 years of full software development life cycle including coding standards code reviews source control management build processes testing and operations experience
Bachelors degree in computer science or equivalent

Our compensation reflects the cost of labor across several US geographic markets. The base pay for this position ranges from $129300/year in our lowest geographic market up to $223600/year in our highest geographic market. Pay is based on a number of factors including market location and may vary depending on jobrelated knowledge skills and experience. Amazon is a total compensation company.
