Launched in 2006 Amazon Web Services officially began offering developer customers access to web services now widely known as cloud computing based on Amazons own backend technology platform.
AWS Finance seeks a world class Finance Manager to be a key leader supporting AWS EKS business.
This position will work closely with finance management as well as key business partners across the AWS organization including product managers engineering leaders sales and business development leadership and internal AWS teams to drive thoughtful analysis and controllership.
The successful candidate will implement and drive the core financial processes for the business including Annual Operating Plans Service P&Ls Monthly/Quarterly Business Reviews identify and quantify financial/operational Risks and Opportunities (R&O) to the business and drive adhoc business projects.
This role requires a selfstarter with a strong financial modeling background problem solving skills a keen attention to detail ability to work in a fastpaced environment with ambiguous situations and solid skills in people management and thought leadership. This role has regular interaction with various business units across Amazon and requires strong people skills.
Key job responsibilities
Build out and enhance P&L models develop business insights and KPI dashboards and lead ad hoc analyses.
Support new business initiatives/products/feature launches; understand cost models and drive pricing decisions.
Provide revenue deep analytics and communicate effectively to senior business team leaders.
Take the lead in financial planning and analysis; building complex financial models and analytical tools to measure overall financial performance including short and long range financial/operational forecasts and communicating results to senior management.
Manage financial controllership lead reviews of financial metrics analyze variances synthesize key business drivers and communicate them to senior management in business terms and influence them through presenting actionable drivers.
5 years of tax finance or a related analytical field experience
Bachelors degree in finance accounting business economics or a related analytical field (e.g. engineering math computer science) or Bachelors degree and 5 years of quantitative role (engineering process reengineering quality assurance) experience
5 years of identifying incomplete or inaccurate data identifying the root cause and creating/implementing an escalation plan experience
5 years of solving complex business challenges by delivering accurate and timely financial models analysis and recommendations that have a proven impact on business (e.g. financial savings operational improvements or customer benefits) experience
Experience working with largescale data mining and reporting tools (examples: SQL MS Access Essbase Cognos) and other financial systems (examples: Oracle SAP Lawson JD Edwards)
Experience delivering forecasting budgeting and variance analysis and data interpretation of results
Knowledge of SQL/ETL
MBA or CPA
6 years of applying key financial performance indicators (KPIs) to analyses experience
6 years of creating process improvements with automation and analysis experience
6 years of building financial and operational reports/data sets that inform business decisionmaking experience
6 years of participating in continuous improvement projects in your team to scale and improve controllership with measurable results experience

Our compensation reflects the cost of labor across several US geographic markets. The base pay for this position ranges from $85900/year in our lowest geographic market up to $179500/year in our highest geographic market. Pay is based on a number of factors including market location and may vary depending on jobrelated knowledge skills and experience. Amazon is a total compensation company.
