JOB TITLE: Accounts Payable Manager

EMPLOYER: ACAP Services LLC

DEPARTMENT: Finance

REPORTS TO: Controller

LOCATION: Onsite in Miami FL (Brickell)


ABOUT THE COMPANY

ACAP is a rapidly growing organization that owns and operates multiple insurance companies and ancillary insurance businesses and has over $10 billion of total invested assets. This opening is with the holding company which primarily performs asset management actuarial accounting and other oversight functions on behalf of ACAPs insurers and thirdparty clients. This group also provides strategic and operational support to ACAPs portfolio companies/subsidiaries proactively formulates new investment strategies oversees external financing and acquisition activities and provides modeling support for insurer liabilities and capital. On the insurance product side ACAPs primary lines of business are traditional fixed and equityindexed annuities with additional business in whole life insurance Medicare supplement and hospital indemnity products. ACAP insurers originate over $2 billion of new premium annually.

ABOUT THE ROLE

The Accounts Payable Manager will oversee the entire accounts payable process ensuring the accurate and timely processing of invoices payments and expense reports. This role requires strong leadership skills a deep understanding of accounting principles and a commitment to maintaining robust financial controls. The ideal candidate will have over five years of experience in accounts payable with a track record of improving processes and managing a team effectively.

WHAT YOU WILL DO:

  • Manage Accounts Payable Process:
    • Oversee the daily operations of the accounts payable department.
    • Ensure all invoices are processed accurately and in a timely manner.
    • Maintain and improve payment processes to ensure timely vendor payments.
  • Team Leadership:
    • Lead mentor and develop a team of accounts payable professionals.
    • Conduct performance reviews and provide ongoing feedback and support.
    • Foster a collaborative and highperforming team environment.
  • Financial Controls and Compliance:
    • Develop and enforce accounts payable policies and procedures.
    • Ensure compliance with internal controls company policies and regulatory requirements.
    • Coordinate with internal and external auditors as required.
  • Process Improvement:
    • Identify opportunities for process improvements and implement best practices.
    • Leverage technology to enhance efficiency and accuracy in the accounts payable process.
    • Monitor key performance indicators and implement strategies to improve performance.
  • Vendor Relations:
    • Manage relationships with vendors and resolve any issues or discrepancies.
    • Negotiate payment terms and agreements with suppliers.
    • Ensure vendor records are accurately maintained.
  • Reporting and Analysis:
    • Prepare and analyze accounts payable reports including aging reports and payment forecasts.
    • Provide regular updates to senior management on accounts payable status and performance.
    • Assist in the preparation of financial statements and other financial reports.

WHAT YOU WILL NEED:

  • Bachelors degree in Accounting Finance or a related field.
  • Minimumof 5 years of experience in accounts payable
  • 2 years in a supervisory or managerial role preferred.
  • Strong knowledge of accounting principles and accounts payable processes.
  • Proficiency with accounting software and Microsoft Office Suite particularly Excel.
  • Excellent leadership communication and interpersonal skills.
  • Strong analytical and problemsolving abilities.
  • Detailoriented with a high degree of accuracy.
  • Ability to work under pressure and meet tight deadlines.

POSITION TYPE AND EXPECTED HOURS OF WORK

This is a fulltime position. Days and hours of work are Monday through Friday 9:00 a.m. to 6:00 p.m. 40 hours weekly or as otherwise arranged with the manager of the department.

US work authorization is required.
