Sandvik Mining and Construction USA LLC is looking for a Technical Support Specialist (Job Code R0076639
Your performance areas:
The Technical Support Specialist position will provide technical engineering support for rotary drill mining equipment and will perform infield diagnostic troubleshooting of mechanical and technical issues including repairs modification installation of new parts and assemblies for surface mining rotary drills and related hydraulic pneumatic electrical and telecommunication/networking systems.
Key responsibilities include:
- Support new drilling unit introductions including onsite commissioning services.
- Provide mining operator training and related maintenance training.
- Complete software installations calibrations and configuration for target rotary drill rigs for mining operations.
- Determine functionality within mining drill rig control hydraulic pneumatic electrical and telecommunication/networking systems.
- Analyze the impact of parameter changes on drill functionalities within the control systems.
- Support new product development projects for automated rotary blasthole drill rigs used for surface mining.
- Provide input into the design and development process including infield observations and feedback regarding machine functionality and startup testing.
- Provide input regarding equipment performance necessary for machine buildout startup and factory acceptance testing.
- Provide technical application support for commissioning and adaptation of drill rig equipment at the customer mine site including drilling trials.
- Optimize mining operator performance and provide field trials expertise training and troubleshooting.
- Provide service training courses on related surface drilling equipment for customers dealers and sales area staff.
- Provide technical advice and remedy issues with parts units components and systems.
- Recommend changes to engineering team for rotary drill mining equipment and provide accurate documentation and timely followup on outstanding issues.
Your profile:
- Bachelors degree in Electrical Electronic Mechanical or Telecommunications Engineering and two 2 years of experience as Specialist Field Service Technician or Field Technical Support.
- The required two 2 years of experience must have included performing infield diagnostic troubleshooting testing modification and calibration of hydraulic pneumatic electrical and telecommunication/networking system features of surface mining rotary drills and the installation and calibration of control system software for surface mining rotary drills. Up to 30 domestic and international travel required.
