Job Summary: The Coordinator of International Student Services will perform job duties in accordance with Columbia Colleges vision mission and values. This position is responsible for organizing a range of services and programs designed to enhance academic success personal development and cultural adjustment of international students at Columbia College Denver RDW1location. The coordinator will work closely with faculty staff and other departments across the college to ensure that international students have the resources and support they need to thrive.
Essential Functions:
- Serve as a Designated School Official (DSO) with the Student and Exchange Visitor Program (SEVP) updating records to ensure compliance with immigration reporting and regulations.
- Advise international students in areas of immigration cultural personal and financial concerns keeping records and providing regular updates to college constituents.
- Prepare and issue documents for F1 students related to requests for immigration benefits.
- Engage in the international student matriculation process including predeparture outreach orientation (online and inperson) and ongoing programming and support.
- Assist with departmental projects to enhance efficiency and customer service e.g. website revisions development of processes and communications creating and delivering presentations to students and the campus community.
- Coordinate with departmental staff and college offices to ensure that data reported to the Department of Homeland Security is accurate and timely.
- Maintain relationships with state and U.S. government agencies to stay current on requirements for international students and local international educators to stay updated on immigration regulations and trends.
- Represent Columbia College as the primary point of contact for strategic partnerships and feeder programs in the Denver area.
- Coordinate market implement and assess intercultural activities including International Student Orientation and other programs.
- Create implement and assess workshops pertinent to international student issues such as employment integration into the campus community tax obligations and health and wellness.
- Answer phone calls and assist with walkin traffic at the location
- Serve on division and college committees as requested
- Perform job duties in accordance with Columbia Colleges vision mission and values and contributes to the development of the International Student Services office and the Division of Student Affairs.

- Fulfill additional responsibilities as assigned.

- Attend work timely and on a regular basis during the established hours of operation; work additional hours as business necessitates.

Required Core Competencies and Professional Experience: - Ability to fluently read write and understand the English language.

- Proficiency for using a variety of computer and technologyrelated software and equipment including Microsoft Office products and database systems.

- Eligibility to meet federal requirements as set forth by the Department of Homeland Security to be a DSO including U.S. citizenship or permanent residency.
