Job Description

The Department of Orthopaedic Surgery & Sports Medicine at the University of Washington is seeking two fulltime orthopaedic trauma surgeons for a faculty positions in our internationally renowned orthopaedic trauma program based at Harborview Medical Center in Seattle a Level One trauma center encompassing the fivestate region. This position will be based at Harborview Medical Center in Seattle.

Responsibilities will include patient care resident and fellow education medical student teaching and clinical or basic research.In addition the successful candidate will be expected to develop a busy clinical practice encompassing all aspects of orthopaedic trauma surgery as well as a robust program in clinical research the study of educational methodologies or basic research.

These appointments will be made at the Assistant Professor level (without tenure due to funding). The majority of School of Medicine faculty hired in the professorial track are hired under the WOT designation. Faculty appointed WOT have the same rights responsibilities and obligations as tenuretrack and tenured faculty members at those ranks. However faculty appointed as WOT do not hold tenure because all or part of their annual Universityadministered salary is derived from sources other than regularly appropriated state funds. This position has a flexible start date in fall of 2025. Assistant Professors are eligible for multiyear appointments that align with a 12month period (July 1June 30. Faculty with 12month service periods are paid for 11months of service over a 12month period (JulyJune) meaning the equivalent of one month is available for paid time off. University of Washington faculty engage in teaching research and service.

Salary

Overall compensation is a combination of base salary plus other compensation. The base salary range for this position will be: $18334 $26667 per month $220008 $320004 annually) commensurate with experience and qualifications or as mandated by a U.S. Department of Labor prevailing wage determination.

This range is inclusive of base salary provided through the UW Physicians (UWP) practice planin addition to base salary provided by the University. Please note that only compensation provided by the University is included in University benefit determinations and calculations. Compensation provided by UW Physicians (UWP) practice plan may provide eligibility for separate benefits offered by that organization.

Other Compensation

Other compensation associated with this position will include Monthly Additional Compensation (MAC) and SemiAnnual Additional Compensation (SAAC) through the UW Physicians practice plan.

must have an MD or DO degree (or foreign equivalent) be board certified (or eligible) in orthopaedic surgery and have completed a fellowship (or foreign equivalent) in trauma. The candidate must possess or be eligible for a Washington State medical license order to be eligible for University sponsorship for an H1B visa graduates of foreign (nonU.S. medical schools must show successful completion of all three steps of the U.S. Medical Licensing Exam (USMLE) or equivalent as determined by the Secretary of Health and Human Services.
