Title: Assistant Professor (Psychology)

Other Conditions: Appointment to begin August 2025 pending position clearance and availability of funding.


Duties and Responsibilities:

  1. Teach courses in sensation/perception survey of psychology statistics and research methods and courses within the candidates area of specialization.
  2. Provide academic advising to students.
  3. Conduct program of scholarly research.
  4. Participate in department academic university and community service.

Minimum Qualifications:

  1. Doctoral degree in psychology or related discipline from an accredited university by the time of employment.
  2. Demonstrated recent experience in undergraduate teaching.
  3. Ability to teach sensation/perception.
  4. Evidence of current research productivity.
  5. Clear potential for developing a strong program of research in sensation/perception.

Desirable Qualifications:

  1. Documented excellence in teaching courses listed under Duties
  2. Ability to teach learning and motivation cognitive psychology or introduction to biopsychology.
  3. Experience in mentoring undergraduate students.
  4. Strong research record as evidenced by empirical publication in recognized scholarly journals and research grants in the area of sensation/perception.
