Te Whiwhinga mahi The opportunity
The Centre for eResearch (CeR) is looking for a selfmotivated person that will proactively engage with the research community research staff research postgraduates and those that support them across the University to increase awareness and use of modern and emerging research technologies and tools including CeR services. You will advocate for and enable researchers to manage research data and code following University policies and best practices including reproducibility and the FAIR and CARE data principles through data consultations and outreach activities at various levels. You will lead engagements with individual researchers Facultywide groups and research support providers to codesign deliver and embed services. You will also contribute significantly to the provision of CeR core services including the organisation and delivery of digital research skills and community building offerings that involve hundreds of participants.
In this role you will use your strong grounding in university research environments and experience with research software or computational languages (e.g. Python R) and digital data and computational skills (e.g. Linux managing virtual machines using AI in research). You will bring your skills and passion from areas such as domain research data science and analytics research management information and library sciences or teaching and outreach. Key to success will be having a demonstrable understanding of the research data landscape a genuine desire to work collaboratively to deliver and improve digital research data services and willingness to lead and contribute to researcher skills and development.
Research needs and opportunities are constantly evolving and emerging so we are looking for people who are willing and able to quickly learn new skills and collaborate effectively. You will need to be an effective communicator and take ownership to deliver results in our open collegial environment.
The role is fulltimepermanent role 37.5 hours per week)
The remuneration is $83300 $97979 per annum dependent on skills and experience.

The Centre for eResearch is a University platform providing eResearch capability across the entire range of research disciplines across Waipapa Taumata Rau The University of Auckland. Our mission is to develop new ways to apply computer and information technologies to research disciplines and then help researchers to use them.
We seek creative enthusiastic and talented people with skills and interests to complement our multidisciplinary eResearch team who enjoy interacting with researchers and working in a dynamic team environment. You will contribute to and benefit from the teams broad skill base and be excited by the opportunity to work across multiple research fields and in a variety of different capacities.
