THE POSITION
Washington Countys Finance Departmentis looking for an Accountant IIto join our team!

The Opportunity
The Accountant II is responsible for performing a variety of professionallevel accounting and financial duties to ensure the accuracy and integrity of the Countys financial records. This includes account reconciliations financial reporting cost allocation fixed asset maintenance and supporting the development and testing of financial systems. The position plays a critical role in the preparation of the Annual Comprehensive Financial Report (ACFR) financial analysis and compliance with applicable regulations and accounting standards.
The Accountant II works under the supervision of the Chief Accountant and collaborates with both the Budget and Treasury teams to ensure effective financial oversight.
Ideal Candidate Profile
Technical Skills:- Experience with preparing financial reports reconciliations and managing fixed assets.
- Proficient in Oracle Financial Systems and experience with ERP transitions (e.g. Workday).
- Strong understanding of GAAP GASB and governmental accounting principles.
- Proficiency in Excel including advanced formulas (i.e. IF VLOOKUP HLOOKUP COUNTIF etc. creating and managing tables PivotTables/PivotCharts and financial analysis tools.
- Expertise in account reconciliation and financial reporting.
- Strong analytical and critical thinking skills for complex financial transactions.
- Detailoriented with excellent organizational skills.
- Ability to manage multiple tasks and meet deadlines.
- Effective collaboration with teams across departments.
- Strong written and verbal communication skills.
- Proactive problemsolver with the ability to train and support staff on financial policies.

MINIMUM QUALIFICATIONS
Education and Experience
A Bachelors Degree in finance or accounting; AND
Two 2 years of progressively responsible professional accounting experience performing budgetary or financial analysis or auditing.

- PostOffer Check:The successful candidate will undergo a background check.
- Start Date:A start date will be determined after all conditions of employment have been met.
