What you bring to SBHG :
Support Counselor I: High School Diploma Plus 2 years experience OR Associates Degree plus 1 years experience.
Support Counselor II: Associates Degree plus 2 years experience OR Bachelors Degree plus 1 years experience OR Masters Degree no experience needed.
Support Counselor III: Bachelors Degree plus 2 years experience or Masters degree plus 1 years experience.
Experience must be working with seriously emotionally disturbed youth with behavioral and/or emotional impairments.
Valid California Drivers License is Required
How you will make a difference:
The Support Counselor is responsible for working with children in various settings including home school and out of home placements to provide a large variety of services ranging from Therapeutic Behavioral Services (TBS) behavioral intervention services transportation school aide selfhelp skill building vocational preparation support in provision of group treatment models and other services as needed to provide whatever it takes to decrease negative behavior and improve functioning. Staff may be assigned as a one to one in a school setting in which case staff may help .to behaviorally support the clients completion of their schoolwork. The Support Counselor works under the supervision of an assigned Supervisor or Lead and is a part of the childs treatment team.
Division/Program Overview:
Community Based programs.
Provides programs for children adolescents and transitional age youth (TAY) with Mental Health services.
An experienced staff of psychiatrists psychologists social workers mental health therapist / Clinician parent partners and other counselors
Provide case management mental health care and a range of support services in schools homes or other community settings.
Partner with family members school administrators and faculty county social workers case managers probation officers and other agencies.
Utilize Evidence Based Practice (EBP) to ensure clients make positive changes in their life.

Grade spread 22.78 36.46(In accordance with California law the salary grade for this position is listed above. Starting pay within the grade is determined based on experience internal equity and other factors permitted by law.
