SUMMARY: Reporting to the Family Preservation Clinical Manager the Program Supervisor for Caring Connections Program is a critical leadership position within the Links innovative communitybased gender neutral program aimed at preventing children with significant mental health challenges from entering CFS care through scheduled out of home respite in tandem with clinical supports to the family beginning before during or soon after the childs respite stay.
Working from a personcentered nonjudgmental approach the Program Supervisor will collaborate across various systems to ensure the best outcomes for the youth aligning with the programs mission. This position requires a dynamic individual capable of leading a team managing daily operations and embodying the organizations core values with a commitment to achieving excellence and building culturally safe services.
This position demands a high level of organization attention to detail and a deep commitment to creating a welcoming and safe environment for families. The individual will play a vital role in supporting the nonprofits mission by contributing to the smooth operation and maintenance of the visitation home.
PRIMARY RESPONSIBILITIES:of the Program Supervisor include but are not limited to:
- Supervise and mentor staff and youth ensuring a supportive traumainformed environment
- Develop trusting relationships with families offering guidance towards independence and parental competency
- Work with neurodivergent children to problem solve manage conflict engage in activities and maintain appropriate boundaries and expectations
- Work side by side with the clinical team
- Facilitate access to cultural activities and ceremonies respecting family wishes
- Coordinate and assist with daily operations aligning with organizational goals and values
- Implements strategies plans and projects in consultation with leadership teams
- Ensure accountability and alignment with the organizations strategic directions
- Motivate lead and supervise team members towards achieving organizational aims
- Coordinate reporting and maintain program documentation
- Represent the organization internally and externally
- Participate in staff hiring and interviewing
- Ensure compliance with various legislations and promote public health and safety
- Liaise with external entities to align program direction with community needs
- Manage performance attendance and budgeting for the program
- Engage in community networking and respond to external requests
- Attends team meetings and training as required.
Other duties as related to the position and as reasonably assigned by the supervisor or as circumstances dictate all within the context of the Links Mission Vision and Guiding principles as well as a strong and progressive customer service and community service orientation.
QUALIFICATIONS:
Education
- Postsecondary education in Human Services or relevant field
Experience
- Minimum five years of related experience with families and leadership in team and program.
- Extensive experience working with children with complex mental health concerns and leading teams.
- Demonstrated experience in business management and public relations is preferred.
- Previous experience in social services and supporting youth and families preferred.

- Knowledge of child welfare systems school and family dynamics.
- Proficiency in a strengthbased philosophy and familiarity with indigenous culture and language.

- Effective time management prioritizing tasks based on urgency and importance.
- Problem solving abilities for quick identification and resolution of issues especially in inventory and maintenance.

Working /Environmental Conditions
- Fulltime position requiring flexibility for days evenings weekends and holidays overnights or early mornings depending on program needs.
- Work in variety of environments including office setting community locations adapting to different physical and social context.
- Preparedness to handle emotionally charged or stressful situations including dealing with trauma family crisis and challenging behaviors from youth.
- Commitment to maintaining the highest level of confidentiality and ensure secure handling of sensitive information about participants and program operations.
- Respect for and sensitivity towards cultural differences and traditions in all aspect of work.
- Required oncall availability.
- Valid First Aid/CPR Level C.
- Satisfactory Criminal Record Check with Vulnerable Sector Search a clear Child Abuse Registry Check with acceptable Prior Contact Check outcomes and a clear Adult Abuse Registry check; all completed within the last 3 months.
- Valid Manitoba Drivers and satisfactory drivers abstract and
- Access to a personal vehicle for work is required
Preferred or willing to obtain within the first 3 (three) months
- ASIST Certificate (Applied Suicide Intervention Skills Training) and/or any deescalation training preferred;
- Mental Health First Aid & Safe Talk;
- The Link Commit 2 Kids Training;
- Certification in either DLE (The Purposeful Use of Daily Life Events) or TCS (Therapeutic Crisis Solutions).
