Job Description
Conceive design engineer and implement data software and technology solutions that solve significant scientific or business problems. Investigate identify and implement stateoftheart technology platforms that drive productivity and efficiency gains in own function and throughout multiple business areas. Act as a lead engineer in his/her area of expertise and critically evaluate relevant technological advances and integrate this knowledge into new business technology solutions. . Technology Engineers will be aligned to a specific area: Information Software Data or Infrastructure.
Responsibilities
- Conceive design engineer and implement software and technology solutions by studying information needs; conferring with users; studying systems flow data usage and work processes; investigating problem areas; Demonstrate the ability to resolve key project hurdles and assumptions by effectively utilizing available information and technical expertise.
- Demonstrate high proficiency across a wide range of technologies and platforms related to software design and development programming languages data integration data warehousing data analysis and visualization tools data storage network connectivity and virtualization/cloud environments.
- Perform data profiling to understand data nuances build data pipelines and analytical solutions to provide actionable insights into customer acquisition operational efficiency and other key business performance metrics.
- Work with stakeholders including the Executive Product Data and Design teams to assist with datarelated technical issues and support their data infrastructure needs.
- Demonstrate knowledge of the pharmaceutical and healthcare business and utilize this knowledge in the rapid advancement of agile impactful and costeffective solutions
- Highly autonomous and productive in performing activities requiring only minimal direction from or interaction with supervisor. Keeps key stakeholders informed through effective verbal and written communication.
- Matures and leverages relationships with affiliates subsidiaries vendors and industry peers in accordance with Abbvie Values Vendor Management Office and Purchasing to further the mission vision and goals of the organization.
- May mentor/supervise a team of one or more and guide and evaluate the performance of those individuals; is accountable for the effective performance of the team/individuals.
- Understand and adhere to corporate standards regarding applicable Corporate and Divisional Policies including code of conduct safety GxP compliance data security and the software development lifecycle.
Qualifications :
- Bachelors Degree with 7 years of experience; Masters Degree with 6 years of experience; PhD with 2 years of experience in the pharmaceutical industry preferred.
- Proven experience in implementing cloud based data solutions using AWS services such as S3 EKS Lambda API Gateway Glue and big data tools like Spark PySpark EMR Hadoop etc.
- Hands on experience on data profiling data modeling and data engineering using cloud data technologies like Snowflake Databricks; ETL tools like Informatica IICS; scripting using Python R or Scala; workflow management tools like Autosys.
- Experience with stream processing systems like Kafka Spark streaming and SOAP REST JSON XML technologies along with Unix or Linux scripting.
- Implementation experience of DevOps CICD automation and working in an agile project delivery environment.
- Possess thorough theoretical and practical understanding of own discipline.
- Proven implementation of creative technology solutions that advanced business.
- Excellent written and oral English communication skills.
Preferred Skills:
Knowledge of data cataloging tools such as Alation Manta etc.
AWS Certification as Cloud Practitioner Solutions Architect Developer/Data Engineer
Understanding of Artificial Intelligence and Machine Learning concepts
Experience with reporting tools like PowerBI or Tableau

The compensation range described below is the range of possible base pay compensation that the Company believes in good faith it will pay for this role at the time of this posting based on the job grade for this position.
