South Dakota Public Broadcasting is a statewide joint radio and television network that is also South Dakotas NPR and PBS affiliates. We seek an energetic organized and goalfocused professional to operate and monitor television and radio transmitting equipment. Incumbents will complete this by reading meters observing transmitter components and observing equipment for possible problems. This role also assists in minor maintenance of broadcast equipment and switching of video and audio sources.
General Requirements :
Ability to work independently without continuous supervision.
Knowledge Skills and Abilities :
Knowledge of:
broadcast operations;
Federal Communication Commission rules and regulations;
IP networking; and
electronics terminology.
Ability to:
navigate MS Windows folders and files;
use MS Office products;
follow broadcast station program schedules;
take meter readings; and
work independently.
Other Information :
Position is 24 hours per week. Schedule requires some evenings and overnight shifts in a climate controlled room.
Please note this is a temporary nonbenefited position exempt from civil service.
