Job Description
Bachelors degree in Computer Science or equivalent experience required.
5 years minimum experience in developing databasedriven software components and systems.
Experience with high performance web applications internet application development and Linux
Active experience in the full programming lifecycle with related opensource software platforms (git SVN JBoss Eclipse) and languages (at least one of: PHP Python Ruby; Drupal/PHP; Java preferred).
Experience developing high performance web applications and internet application integration (eg ServiceNow SalesForce) within Linux environments.
Strong knowledge of SDLC specifically systems testing and validation.
Knowledge of HIPAA and the ability to implement technical controls to protect PHI.
Experience working with FDA regulated clinical trials strongly preferred.
Knowledge of clinical trial management systems preferred but not required.
Strong written and verbal communication and interpersonal skills.
Knowledge of relational database structures and structured query language (SQL) required.
Proven ability to work in a teamoriented dynamic environment developing flexible solutions to meet evolving requirements.
Demonstrated ability to meet very short deadlines & multitask in an extremely fastpaced work environment with little direct supervision.
Demonstrated excellence in project management skills with a strong commitment to customer service.
Superior written and verbal communication and interpersonal skills: Ability to communicate effectively with endusers investigators (scientists) governance teams developers application analysts and systems engineers.
Knowledge of all phases of clientserver application technology and highavailability/clustered webserver implementations and enduser support.
Ability and willingness to travel within the Boston area to the multiple Partners sites at MGH BWH Harvard Medical School McLean and elsewhere.

Partners Healthcare Systems (PHS) Research Computing Core Facility has an opening for a Database Developer. Reporting to the Cores Lead Software Engineer and Directed by Enterprise Research Infrastructure & Services (ERIS and the TIMI group this position will support a broad range of programming tasks.
The Candidate will be responsible for: with business analysts developing and documenting the workflow and determining the technical tools that best meet the needs of the solution; provide an estimate of time for work product; Supervised by Lead Software Engineer implement the technical requirements; train/educate endusers in the deliverables use and functions. Lastly the candidate will assist in the troubleshooting of users issues within the system fix bugs and manage feature requests.
ERIS enables and supports the highly successful and innovative research programs of the largest teaching hospitals of Harvard Medical SchoolMassachusetts General (MGH) Brigham and Womens (BWH) Mclean and several community and rehabilitation hospitals. With more than 1200 grantsponsored programs in the biomedical sciences ranging from basic clinical to applied research ERIS specializes in directly supporting investigators and their research projects through shared services (HPC data storage cloud computing) and scientific support (informatics research IT). The Core is a feeforservice facility funded through ongoing project work.

Responsibilities:
Work closely within a focused team to support sponsorfunded clinical trials specifically in developing tools that will enhance existing processes for site and trial management as well as support regulatory document processing.
Program test and document databasedriven software systems in accordance with programming standards and validation procedures in OQ (Operational Qualifications)/PQ (Production Qualification) formats.
Ensure on time quality deliverables within budget estimates. Meet project milestones and deadlines.
Write installation qualification documentation (IQ) and/or perform IQ.
Act as system administrator for software systems developed by ERIS.
Work independently with diverse sets of clients and manage a diverse set of job responsibilities and tasks.
Travel to corporate and research sites for meetings with investigators stakeholders governance teams and ERIS/Research Computing team members.
