Manager Strategic Communications

Reporting to the Dean the Manager of Strategic Communications will manage the communication and marketing services for the college its academic departments programs and centers. The incumbent provides guidance and direction for advancing the mission and vision of the college through the development and implementation of communications marketing and multimedia strategies; creates and implements marketing campaigns and multimedia strategies for enhancing student recruitment alumni involvement donor giving and the promotion of academic programs centers and specialized initiatives. The incumbent manages personnel assigned as part of their duties to assist with communication and marketing initiatives. This person will serve as a key member of the college leadership team as the college marketing liaison with other unit Managers of Strategic Communications and MTSU Marketing and will promote a consistent professional and integrated brand for the college. As a representative of the college duties include travel to represent the college at public events for recruitment strategic communication and development activities.
Bachelors degree; Masters in marketing communications or the following related fields is preferred: Communications Advertising Public Relations Marketing Business Administration with Marketing Concentration Integrated Marketing & Communications Strategic Communications Digital Marketing or similarly titled degree.
Preferred knowledge skills and abilities include work with current and emerging technology media and digital communications and how to implement appropriate strategies for specific projects; Ability to effectively organize and manage personnel and multiple concurrent projects; Maintenance of data and report generation on communication effectiveness.
Candidate must in their written application and/or subsequent job interview(s) be able to demonstrate effective management of web content social media and/or other media or marketing projects; Demonstrated written and oral communication skills to reach target audiences and key stakeholders.
