Director of Campus Recreation
Position: Western Colorado University invites applications for the fulltime position of Director of Campus Recreation. The position reports to the Dean of Students and works closely with Western students faculty and staff. This is an oncampus position.
Responsibilities: The Director of Campus Recreation is responsible for the leadership of the Department of Campus Recreation through strategic vision situational leadership and general department management. This position will also be responsible for the supervision of the departments professional staff including the four 4 Assistant Director of Campus Recreation positions for: Wilderness Pursuits Mountaineer Field House Recreational Sports and Mountain Sports. Additional responsibilities include building management of the Mountaineer Field House (MFH) budgetary/fiscal management and revenue generation. The Director additionally supports the management of wellbeing initiatives and strategy out of the MFH. Campus Recreation is a part of the Division of Student Affairs and the Director supports the overall mission of Student Affairs and the University through the creation of new and ongoing initiatives to support student recruitment engagement and retention.

Compensation: The annual base salary range is $58000 $63000. Western offers an excellent benefits package including shared premiums for a comprehensive health insurance plan dental insurance retirement plan life insurance and other insurance options. After one year of employment Western provides free tuition for dependents enrolled full time in undergraduate programs for up to four years. Western has acquired local rental agreements for newly hired employees moving to the Gunnison Valley which can serve as bridge housing if available. Upon hire contact information for housing opportunities will be provided by the Human Resources department.
