***ANTICIPATED VACANCY***
The Deputy Director for Finance and Accounting (F/A) is a strategic senior management position responsible for leading an effective DHB F/A function which includes maintaining accurate financial records tracking payments and receipts and managing required federal financial reporting to DHBs federal regulator the Centers for Medicare and Medicaid Services (CMS). Reporting directly to the Chief Financial Officer this position works closely with the senior leadership within DHB to ensure timely accurate compliant NC Medicaid financing and reporting. The Deputy Director of F/A is responsible for providing strategic direction and overall management for a team of section managers and financial analysts who are responsible for recommending finance and accounting policies based on CMS guidance and/or NC statutory requirements and contractual relationships with multiple prepaid health plan (PHP) vendors; operating finance and accounting functions including accounts payable and receivable cash management hardship payment advances administrative cost allocation cost avoidance and recovery drug rebates and federal financial reporting; and coordinating with administrative clinical and operational units within Medicaid and across DHHS.
