Job Description
Overview
Selux Corporation is hiring a Packer for Shipping in their Highland NY manufactuaring location.
This is a full time position with excellent affordable medical dental and vision benefits paid holidays paid time off and 401k match.
Pay Rate: $17 P/H
Qualifications
- Seeking a candidate that is skilled in wrapping palettes building palettes cutting wood and packing products.
- Ability to use appropriate measuring tools.
- High school diploma or equivalent.
- Ability to read and comprehend procedures written in English
- Ability to use hand and power tools
- Previous experience in shipping and packing in a manufacturing environment.
- Good written and oral communication skills.
Physical Demands:
- Ability to use hands to finger handle or feel.
- Ability to frequently stand walk reach within hands and arms length stoop kneel and crouch.
- Ability to regularly lift and/or move up to 25 pounds occasionally lift and/or move up to 50 pounds.
- Specific vision requirements include close vision.
Work Environment:
- Will be required to work in manufacturing & warehouse areas. Will be exposed to a noisy environment routinely.
Responsibilities
Assembles wooden or cardboard containers or selects preassembled containers.
Packs items into containers using spacers fillers and protective padding
Nails covers on wooden crates and binds containers ensuring stability.
Affixes shipping labels on packed cartons
Assists with loading items on to shipping truck or trailer for pick up.
