Salary: $32 $37 per hour.

We are looking for a special kind of person a St Vincents kind of person. Someone who puts compassion connection and caring for other people at the heart of everything they do.

As a Head Chef youll be part of an experienced engaged and dedicated team helping to create a welcoming professional and supportive care experience for the residents of our Werribee facility.

St Vincents Care Services Werribeeis a contemporary boutique aged care facility providing a highquality haven of care within the centrallylocated Wyndham Health Precinct. It is an 80 bed facility located 30km southwest of Melbournes city centre.

Things that work for us:

  • This is a Permanent Full Time position and only candidates with Full Time availability will be considered
  • Flexibility to work evenings weekends and holidays as required
  • Minimum 4 years experience in a high volume or fine dining establishment
  • Previous experience with large functions canape and banquet style and private dining
  • Previous experience in an Aged Care facility or similar is highly desirable
  • Culinary degree or diploma from an accredited institution
  • Certifications in food safety and hygiene food supervision
  • Previous experience in a supervisory role or demonstrated leadership in a kitchen environment
  • Ability to mentor and train junior staff
  • A passion for food and high standards of quality and presentation
  • Work alongside your team to resolve any kitchen challenges during daily operation
  • Work alongside your team to create modify and improve menu items based on seasonality trends and resident feedback.
  • Understanding of dietary restrictions and how to accommodate them
  • Strong interpersonal skills for interacting with staff residents and families.
  • Ability to collaborate with dietary and healthcare teams.
  • Proficiency in a variety of cooking techniques and cuisines particularly those suitable for the aged care population.
  • Proven ability to manage multiple tasks and prioritize effectively in a fastpaced environment.
  • Willingness to participate in ongoing training and development opportunities.
  • A valid full drivers license is essential as the role involves transportation between various aged care facilities.
  • Understanding of new aged care standards and IDDSI standard
