As a Field Service Engineer for Agilent you will have the opportunity to work in various labs making a passion for continuously learning about new instruments software and consumables essential. Your interpersonal skills creativity and cando attitude will be crucial in this role. Youll help solve customer problems and deliver the highest levels of customer service ensuring customer success. The ideal candidate will be based in the Philadelphia area. Please note that this position requires a vehicle and mileage reimbursement will be provided.
Job Requirements:
Must consent to participate and meet Agilentapproved customer/vendor credentialing requirements necessary to gain access to customer sites. Requirements may include but are not limited to proof of identification proof of certification to perform thework required proof of citizenship customer health and safety requirements PPE certification or training and specific vaccination requirements depending on the industry.
Responsibilities:
- You will be responsible for supporting our customers with onsite installation implementation maintenance and repair of Chromatography and Mass Spectroscopy systems. Our varied product lines include hardware software and networking products as wellas operating systems.
- Install and optimize hardware/software/network products and configurations at customer sites.
- Respond to internal and external customer needs by providing repair installation upgrade and preventive maintenance activities.
- Diagnose and resolve product performance problems.
- Perform maintenance and repairs.
- Ensure customer satisfaction by advising customers on preventive maintenance and configurations which may impact product performance.
- Communicate with the manager and sales team to ensure customer needs and expectations are clearly understood and met.
- Provide feedback to the Product Specialists manufacturing or OEM vendors concerning performance anomalies encountered. Utilize the complaint handling system as required.
- Document time and expenses in a timely manner as required in SAP and other means as requested by the manager.
- Proactively respond to potential equipment issues to prevent unplanned interruption of customers business.
- Complete administrative and compliance reports promptly and accurately.
- Deliver fully integrated solutions which may include peripherals communications operating systems and applications software.
- Be responsive to customer requests for service and communicate proactively before during and after service.
- Train other field engineers and customers in the solutions.
Qualifications
Minimum Requirements:
- High school diploma military training associate degree OR some college with major coursework in electronics or previous work experience in a related field.
- Bachelors or masters degree within the science field (e.g. chemistry analytical chemistry biochemistry biotechnology or similar) is preferred.
- 12 years of experience in a similar position or experience as an end user working with analytical instrumentation such as chromatography and/or mass spectrometry systems.
- Previous experience as a Field Service Engineer with instrumentation maintenance troubleshooting and instrument repair experience is highly preferred.
- Experience with troubleshooting and problemsolving.
- Clear respectful and timely verbal and written communication skills.
- Must have own transportation for mileage reimbursement.
- Enjoy traveling and visiting customers.
- Valid drivers license.
- Travel: 35 including some overnight stays per month. This position will require daily driving to customer sites and maintaining equipment.
Additional Details
This job has a full time weekly schedule. It includes the option to work remotely. Applications for this job will be accepted until at least April 15 2025 or until the job is no longer posted. In the US this position is eligible for choice of company car or reimbursement for personal vehicle usage.
The fulltime equivalent pay range for this position is $33.23 $51.92/hr plus eligibility for bonus stock and benefits. Our pay ranges are determined by role level and location. Within the range individual pay is determined by work location and additional factors including jobrelated skills experience and relevant education or training.
