The Special Education Supervisor is responsible for the oversight and direction of activities related to compliance and program support involving the instructional programming for students with disabilities. The supervisor works with assigned school staff to ensure accountability and compliance with the implementation of state and federal regulations related to IDEA and local policies procedures and practices related to students with disabilities.

Qualifications
Below are the minimum qualifications for this job. Equivalent combinations of education and experience are also acceptable.
Education
Bachelors degree
Experience
Five years of successful experience in progressively responsible positions and administrative experience and/or program supervision required
Licenses and Certifications
Pupil Personnel Services License or Postgraduate Professional License with endorsements in one or more areas of Special Education; administrative endorsement and/or special education leadership certificate preferred

While performing the duties of this job the employee is regularly talking expressing or exchanging ideas by means of the spoken word. The employee must convey detailed or important spoken instructions to other workers accurately loudly or quickly. The employee must possess normal cognitive abilities including the ability to learn recall and apply
certain practices and policies. Frequently sitting and/or remaining in a stationary position for long periods of time. Exerting up to 25 pounds of force occasionally and/or negligible amount of force frequently or constantly to lift carry push pull or otherwise move objects.
Itinerant travel is required and the employee is frequently required to change locations and adapt to multiple environments across schools and offices. Ability to drive and navigate to multiple locations occasionally within a single day is required.
