The Department of Natural Resources (DNR) has an exciting opportunity to connect your impulses for orderly fiscal reconciliations with positive forest health outcomes within our Forest Resilience Division as a Fiscal Analyst 2.
Duties
Responsibilities:
Daytoday responsibilities include working with division staff and contracts team to compile and code payment requests and travel expense vouchers reviewing expenses for accuracy and reconciliation against contract and program manager records timeliness and alignment with state and agency fiscal policies finding errors and submitting corrections as needed.
Create reports and analyses to inform budget planning and management decisionmaking. Create and maintain tracking mechanisms for accountability of financial processes within the Division.
Qualifications
Required Qualifications:
One year of relevant professional experience.
Experience performing a variety of advanced and complex accounting and financial tasks.
Advanced experience using all Microsoft Office products database management and financial software/systems.
Experience in preparing financial reports and statements.
Strong analytical and mathematical skills.
Competent in Generally Accepted Accounting Principles (GAAP).
Work independently or as a part of a team on assigned tasks.
Time management skills with the ability to plan prioritize and organize workloads.
Ability to demonstrate attention to detail.
Reliability to be on the job.

Special Requirements and Conditions of Employment:
This position is in an office setting located at the Natural Resources Building in Olympia WA. There may be occasional times when the employee is required to function away from their normal workspace both on and offsite. Work is primarily indoors but may offer opportunities to visit and review sitespecific activities of Forest Resilience programs.
Travel for this position is minimal (less than 5; traveling to DNR facilities (regions work centers nursery etc. and lands managed or controlled by the agency.
Desired Qualifications:
Associates degree in accounting auditing or budgeting.
Fifteen 15 course credit hours of accounting auditing or budgeting.
