Position and Salary
The Attorney Generals Office is recruiting for a permanent full time Legal Assistant 1 in the Children Youth and Families (CYF) Division. This position is located in Olympia Washington and is represented by the Washington Federation of State Employees (WFSE).
Legal Assistant 1 (Range 38 salary range: $39804 $52920
The base pay offered will take into account internal equity and may vary depending on the preferred candidates jobrelated knowledge skills and experience.

About the Children Youth and Families Division:
The Children Youth and Families Division (CYF) is comprised of 30 attorneys and 28 professional staff who together provide advice and representation to the Department of Children Youth and Families. Staff in each Attorney Generals Office location handle litigation for DCYF and the CYF Division has the responsibility for doing so locally as well as coordinating this work for the AGO statewide and advising DCYF leadership.
Duties and Essential Functions of the Legal Assistant 1:
This position works in a highly collaborative fastpaced team environment in the Juvenile Litigation (JUV) Section of the Children Youth and Families (CYF) Division to support the mission of the Attorney Generals Office and the divisions client agency the Department of Children Youth and Families.
The legal assistant works to provide litigation support for AAGs and Paralegals by:

Qualifications:
Option 1: High School diploma or equivalent and two years of clerical experience including a minimum of one year of experience in a legal environment;
Option 2: Two years of legal office experience;
Option 3: A combination of three years of college education and/or relevant experience;
Option 4: A two year degree in Legal Secretary Studies Paralegal studies or related field of study.
SKILLS AND ABILITIES:
Effective written and verbal communication attention to detail multitasking and working in a fastpaced environment ability to track short and longterm projects be an effective team player.
