Job Description

Our client based in Cape Town is looking for a Personal Lines Underwriter with 3 years experience in a client services environment and is FAIS compliant.

REQUIREMENTS:
  • 3 yearsexperience in client services environment
  • 3 yearsexperience as a Personal Lines Underwriter
  • Microsoft Office (Word Excel)
  • Matric or equivalent qualification
  • RE5 NON NEGOTIABLE
  • FAIS compliant (credits and/or full qualification)
DUTIES:
  • Ensure new business targets are met
  • Ensure Binder fees targets are met
  • Ensure retention of existing clients
  • Ensure and contribute to minimization of general expenses
  • Ensure that all stakeholder (e.g. clients AEs insurers) communication is accurate timeous professional and relevant
  • Build and maintain mutually beneficial relationships with internal and external stakeholders
  • Ensure and contribute to achieving own and company required client satisfaction targets
  • General Enquiries such as but not limited to cover products processes
  • New Business Renewals Endorsements and Rebroke
  • Conduct risk assessments
  • Analyze clients portfolios
  • Request obtain and assess quotes from insurers
  • Rate policies
  • Request obtain and/or provide clients with all required information and/or documents
  • Arrange valuations and reinsurance
  • Raise premiums
  • File all relevant documentation electronically and in hard copy
  • Upsell cover to clients where appropriate
  • Cancellations
  • Follow retention processes
  • Cancel the policy on the system
  • Confirm cancellation request with the client
  • File all relevant documentation electronically and in hard copy
  • Refunds
  • Raise invoices
  • Request refunds from line manager electronically
  • File all relevant documentation electronically and in hard copy
  • Adhere to company mandates
  • Participate and contribute in ad hoc projects
  • Report any suspected fraud misrepresentation and/or dishonesty
  • Keep accurate record of own activities
  • Live the RBS values
  • Ensure continuous selfdevelopment
  • Ensure objectives of own development plans are achieved
  • Share information and knowledge with the team
  • Ensure productivity and quality assurance targets are met

  • Mon Fri: 08:00 16:30
