This is a grant funded position through the ELISS grant through June 30 2025. Thereafter the district may explore alternative avenues of continuing to support this role to be determined by the budget process during that school year. The ELISS Counselorwill focus on social emotional learning traumainformed responses academic advising and social emotional support with students and families by:
Promoting student confidence and competence in addressing emotional regulation/self regulation
Promoting student capacity positive mood management
Promoting student social awareness
Promoting student identification of supportive interpersonal relationships
Promoting student reported sense of belonging
Promote teachers positive perception of social emotional competence of select and identified students
Providing technical assistance to identified schools in the development of effective strategies to improve aspects of community and schoolbased mental health services to students
Collect and analyze relevant school level evaluation data related to the ELISS program including but not limited to the mental health database
Provide ongoing supportive consultation to relevant staff in academic and social emotional advisement
Offering consultation to school staff to promote socialemotional wellbeing
Developing strategies for effective family engagement and involvement

Classified Hourly rate based on North Carolina Salary Schedule
Pay Grade 69

Essential Functions
Knowledge Skills and Abilities
Education and Experience
Masters degree in counseling social work psychology required
Licensure in School Counseling School Social Work School Psychology. LCMHS LCSW LPA preferred
