The City of Fairfax Police Department located in Northern Virginia is actively hiring Police Officers to join their exceptional team. This is a fulltime onsite role for those dedicated to public service and community safety.
$63828 $107249 annually

Note: Applicants currently certified by the Virginia Department of Criminal Justice Services (DCJS) are not required to attend the 21week Northern Virginia Criminal Justice Academy.
To be considered applicants must meet the following requirements:
Minimum 20 years and 6 months of age at time of application (no upper age limit)
High school diploma or valid GED certificate
Valid drivers license
U.S. citizenship at time of application
No felony or domestic convictions
Good moral character favorable credit record
Strong communication skills and the ability to react swiftly under pressure
Meet vision standards (see full description for specifics)
Successfully complete the applicant screening process
Sworn officers must comply with department grooming and appearance standards.
Prohibited Tattoos: Obscene offensive gangrelated or discriminatory
Visible Tattoos: Not allowed on the head neck or face
Questionable tattoos require written explanation and photo for review
Noncompliant tattoos must be fully covered
Officers must also agree to a nontobacco use clause as part of their employment agreement.
Patrol designated areas to preserve law and order
Enforce laws and ordinances
Respond to calls involving suspicious activity criminal incidents and community service requests
Conduct traffic enforcement
Prepare reports and maintain records
Perform all other duties as assigned
Work Schedule: Permanent 12hour shifts including weekends and holidays
