The Facilities Engineer involves identifying opportunities analyzing breakdowns and evaluating utility equipment and maintenance procedures to maintain and enhance the equipment and facilities of the manufacturing plant and support facilities. This includes the planning organizing executing and closing out of projects related to the plant equipment including all necessary documentation. The position will coordinate activities with internal departments vendors customers and management to deliver projects on time and within budget.
Essential Duties and Responsibilities |
- Ownership of compressed air systems purified water systems air handling systems dust extraction system hot/cold water system and steam generation systems.
- Provide direct supervision to utility and facility technicians and Electricians and train technicians on proper procedures.
- Manage and plan utility and facility upgrade projects and ensure compliance with all regulations and standards. Including identification scope development justifications procurement installation and qualification.
- Troubleshoot and resolve electrical and electrical controls issues in circuits containing transformers disconnects over current protection devices and general control components (relays timers PLC etc.
- Troubleshoot and resolve mechanical equipment issues on equipment such as compressors pumps and others as needed.
- Review and oversee plant facilities documents and records as it relates to electrical issues updates and mechanical components.
- Develop equipment procedures and documentation for both existing and new equipment installations.
- Provide technical training and education to all levels of the organization when applicable.
- Develops monitors and communicates critical departmental TTIs and KPIs
- Conduct life cycle assessments on mechanical plant utility and manufacturing equipment review and make recommendations to Engineering management related to life cycle repairs or replacement.
- May perform other duties as required.
Will be required to travel between Mazeppa and surrounding DCs dependent on department needs (less than 10 miles).
Required Qualifications |
Education and Experience:
- Bachelors degree (B. S. in Mechanical Electrical or Industrial Engineering.
- 3 years of Utility/Facility Engineering experience in an applicable industry
Knowledge Skills & Abilities (KSAs):
- Thorough Knowledge of facility systems including Boilers Steam Chillers Compressed Air and HVAC.
- General Knowledge of EPA and OSHA rules and regulations
- Strong mechanical and electrical knowledge and aptitude
- Ability to read and interpret technical drawings and specifications.
- Comfortable working in both a crossfunctional/matrixed team environment and independently.
- Analytical organized and detail oriented.
- Ability to prioritize tasks utilize time efficiently and multitask in an ever changing fastpaced environment.
- Able to adapt to changing procedures and environment.
- Displays professionalism and sound judgement in all situations.
- Ability to work with mathematical concepts such as probability and statistical inference and fundamentals of plane and solid geometry and trigonometry. Ability to apply concepts such as fractions percentages ratios and proportions to practical situations.
- Must have the ability to communicate effectively both verbally and in writing with internal staff and management. Ability to read analyze and interpret general business periodicals professional journals technical procedures or governmental regulations. Ability to write reports business correspondence and procedure manuals. Ability to effectively present information and respond to questions from groups of managers clients customers and the general public.
- Must be able to demonstrate practical problem solving and trouble shooting skills. Ability to demonstrate practical problem solving and trouble shooting skills. Ability to define problems collect data establish facts and draw valid conclusions. Ability to interpret an extensive variety of technical instructions in mathematical or diagram form and deal with several abstract and concrete variables.

- Knowledge of the cGMP regulations as it relates to utility systems.
- Knowledge in energy systems analysis and energy reduction projects
- Knowledge of wastewater systems
- Experience with project management
- Licensed Electrician
