Job Summary:

The individual hired for this position will work as part of an engineering team to design develop integrate and test software features on embedded electronic controls for use in Caterpillar Medium Wheel Loader machine applications.

What You Will Do:

  • Creation of detailed software specs from high level customer requirements
  • Electronics and software support for prove design machine builds and testing
  • Define datalink communications between controllers on J1939 and Ethernet
  • Support and communication of software releases including documentation required by field follow and/or customers for successfully updating software wiring and components
  • Identification and resolution of software defects and proper issue list submissions and management

Education Requirement:

  • Requires a 4year degree in an accredited Engineering Computer Science or Materials Science curriculum

Requirements Analysis:
Plays an active or leading role in recording and storing requirement documents in various forms.
Ensures the successful completion of all major activities tasks and deliverables pertaining to the requirement analysis stage.
Trains others on requirements walkthroughs and quality reviews.

Top Candidates Will Have:

  • Electrical components / systems experience. Read a schematic and troubleshoot basic machine wiring issues.
  • Embedded C software experience
  • Experience developing embedded realtime software or systems for mobile earthmoving agricultural industrial or offhighway applications
  • Experience with FMEA processes and a basic knowledge of electronic system failure modes
  • 10 years of engineering experience
  • Experience with electronically controlled mechanical systems

The location for this position is Mossville IL.

Domestic relocation assistance is available for this position.

This position will require less than 10 travel.
