Job Description

The Financial Crimes Compliance Senior Specialist serves as a technical expert and leads the identification and investigation of potential fraudulent or suspicious activities both broadly and specifically in the Cash Management arena. This role also leads the implementation of Financial Crimes processes and procedures to ensure regulatory compliance and protect shareholder assets and may oversee the work of more junior team members.

Responsibilities:

  • Oversee the implementation of new surveillance monitors for Vanguards Cash Management product supports in the implementation of general monitors
  • Prepares procedures risk assessments and needs analysis to support the monitoring of activity in the Cash Management supports these activities for general monitors
  • Maintains strong relationships with the business with the intent to support and influence future product development
  • Acts as an advisor on AML matters for all stakeholders
  • Resolves exceptions including unusual and complex issues escalated by more junior team members according to established guidelines. Collaborates with managers to resolve the most complex issues.
  • Prepares required internal and external reporting in accordance with departmental policies and regulatory guidelines.
  • Provides formal and informal educational activities including presentations staff meetings and training programs. Develops and delivers financial crimes related training and education for more junior crew members.
  • Maintains a comprehensive knowledge of the investment industry and compliance developments with implications for Vanguards financial crimes program. Keeps abreast of the current market regulatory and industry news. Serves as a consultant on compliance related issues. Acts as a liaison to regulatory agencies.
  • Participates in special projects and performs other duties as assigned.


Qualifications:

  • Minimum of five years related work experience.
  • Undergraduate degree or equivalent combination of training and experience.
  • Cash Management Product knowledge and expertise needed within Financial Crimes space
  • Strong stakeholder management skills
