The Senior Analyst is an important GTC team member which is highly visible and strategically located at AbbVie Logistics BV (VLOG) in Zwolle The Netherlands. This role is focused on supporting the Operations and Distribution network while also engaging with Global stakeholders.
They are responsible for actively collaborating with cross-functional teams optimizing trade compliance operations enhancing decision-making and mitigating risks. Their contributions are instrumental in shaping the future of our trade compliance function and supporting AbbVies mission to improve the lives of individuals worldwide.
Primary Responsibilities:
- Partner with cross-functional teams such as: Supply Chain Brand Mgmt Operations (e.g. Manufacturing Logistics Customer Service) and other relevant areas to ensure alignment and integration of functional activities.
- Demonstrate AbbVie leadership principles and provide innovative strategic and evidence-based support to lead and create opportunities for optimization and cost reduction.
- Perform importing/exporting operational activities and resolve day-to-day issues that may result in border delays including acting as a back-up to individuals as needed.
- Monitor SAP GTS self-filing process and technical challenges. Work with BTS for quick resolutions.
- Apply advanced knowledge of regulations and requirements to support and mitigate business requirements or risks.
- Assess and initiate import/export/duty management projects and or any Special Trade Programs that focus on driving efficiencies or cost savings for the company (e.g. Inward Processing). This includes performing detailed analysis of trade processes to eliminate non-value add activities and quantifying the impact.
- Monitor and align with relevant GTC partners on trade compliance regulatory and legislative changes that may impact on our manufacturing operations and alert the appropriate parties internally on the impact on the business
- Update of local Procedures and Work Instructions as required and provide training to stakeholders.
- Execute and support the capturing and analysis of metrics associated with trade operations.
- Assist in management and compliance of maintaining Authorized Economic Operator (AEO) status and other relevant trade security programs.
- Deploy the GTC Operating model mandated policies and procedures self-audit program and training to ensure continued compliance with customs law with all stakeholders.
- The Analyst will also be flexible for business continuity purposes and will have the opportunity to support and execute for other countries within the scope of our EU Team.
Qualifications :
- Proficient in English
- Qualification in a related field (e.g. international trade supply chain logistics legal are preferred but not mandatory)
- 5 years of experience working in a customs agent/brokers agency multinational company consulting firm pharmaceutical company or logistics service provider preferred.
- Knowledge of EU import/export regulations and activities etc.
- Knowledge of Customs requirements for self-filing of import and export entries in Ireland and other countries
- Knowledge and experience with European Customs and EU Customs Compliance Framework.
- Ability to work effectively under time/workload pressure
- Experience with global trade software platforms (e.g. SAP Global Trade Services module)
- Strong planning time management and organizational skills with ability to multitask
- Strong interpersonal skills enjoy working in a collaborative team environment and has the ability to determine when to work independently if required.
