Edmonton Global is a notforprofit economic development organization that represents the 14 municipalities of the Edmonton Metro Region in attracting foreign direct investment and promoting trade. We are also partners in the Edmonton Region Hydrogen HUB (ERH2 which is dedicated to the development of the Edmonton Regions hydrogen ecosystem.
In partnership with Rupertsland Institute we are seeking a Mtis student for a summer intern opportunity. The successful candidate will support the development and of an Indigenous engagement strategy and ERH2 activities. This position is being offered through Rupertsland Institutes Mtis Youth Summer Student Program.
Responsibilities
Responsibilities include but are not limited to:
Support development of Indigenous engagement strategy for economic cooperation
Review and document existing Indigenous engagement and partnership framework
Research and document successful approaches to Indigenous economic reconciliation
Support building and strengthening relationships with Indigenous communities businesses and individuals
Coordination of events and meetings with Indigenous partners
Development of background and supporting materials to support the broader Edmonton Global team in Indigenous engagement opportunities
Support the Edmonton Region Hydrogen Hub delivering on its activities around its projects Western Canada Hydrogen Corridors Initiative Supply Chain Mapping Awareness Building and otherrelated initiatives.

Qualifications
The ideal candidate will be a flexible and proactive individual who thrives in a fastpaced environment able to manage multiple initiatives and address emerging challenges.
Rupertsland Institutes Mtis Youth Summer Student Program requires this position be filled by a Mtis youth <30 years of age) who is registered for fulltime studies in the academic year beginning in September 2025.
Education and Experience
Diploma or undergraduate degree in progress preferably with a science or engineering background
Understanding of Indigenous cultures and perspectives
Familiarity with Truth and Reconciliation Commissions Calls to Action and UNDRIP
Proficient with Microsoft Outlook Office Excel and PowerPoint
Skills & Knowledge
Strong interpersonal and communication skills with a focus on building respectful relationships
Organized detail oriented and able to prioritize effectively
Able to work independently and collaboratively in a team environment
Excellent critical thinking and problemsolving skills
