SUMMARY:
The Engineering Teacher is responsible for planning organizing developing and conducting a comprehensive engineering instructional program for high school students in grades 912. Engineering is offered to grades 912 in Newton. Newton offers both exploratory engineering classes mechanical and electrical engineering a robotics series and upperlevel capstone engineering and robotics courses.

Work Environment:
Work is generally performed in a school environment during the school day however there may be occasions for after school meetings (ex: Back to School Night) Regular attendance is a necessary and essential function. Rarely absent or late unless the situation is of an emergency nature.
Physical Requirements:
While performing the duties of this job the teacher is frequently required to walk stand sit talk and hear. The teacher is regularly required to bend stoop crouch and/or kneel. The teacher is occasionally required to lift and/or move objects weighing up to 25 pounds. Must have sufficient mobility to navigate within a large school building.
