About the Role

Were currently seekingpart time and casual workers for the role ofChildrens Contact Service (CCS) Practitionerlocated from our Cairnsvenue.

This position assists with the activities of the CCS which helps facilitate contact arrangements supports children and their family members during changeovers or supervised visits and provides a safe and secure environment for the children.

Work days/hours will be negotiated with the successful applicant however please note that the position holder will be required to work alternate weekends (Saturday and Sunday 8.30am to 5pm) and evenings 10am to 6pm) with some flexibility to meet the CCS program requirements. Weekend work attracts generous penalty rates.

The central responsibilities for this role include facilitating contact arrangements supporting children and their families during changeovers or supervised visits and providing a safe and secure environment for children.

Additionally you will:

  • Apply theoretical models of supportive human interaction developmental stages of children conflict resolution and other relevant frameworks.
  • Undertaking assessment and intake processes including parent interviews case planning and reviews.
  • Organising safe and appropriate activities for children to maximise parent/child.
  • Evaluate the effectiveness of interventions for parents and children accessing CCS.

About You

To be successful in this position you will

  • Have Bachelor degree in the social or behavioural sciences is an essential requirement and preferrable with a focus on child development.
  • Have demonstrated experience working with children and their parents/carers and theoretical knowledge of the issues regarding child development abuse and/or neglect.
  • Have experience working with people in crisis and/or parents in conflict.
  • Knowledge and ability to apply relevant legislation and regulations relating to family law and/or childrens contact issues is also required.
  • Ability to work on weekend and evening shifts
  • Possession of or willingness to obtain a First Aid/CPR Certificate.

The salary being offered between $84000.00 to $96000.00 per annum pro rata for part time to be negotiated depending upon qualifications and experience plus superannuation. We also offer our employees as follows:
