Minimum Qualifications
- Masters degree in education or instructional technology preferred.
- Tuberculin skin test certifying that the individual is free of contagious tuberculosis.
- Eligible for or in possession of Virginia licensure with appropriate endorsement(s).
- Minimum of three years of successful teaching experience.
- Considerable knowledge of curriculum development and implementation.
- Considerable knowledge of effective and varied teaching strategies and assessment techniques.
- Considerable knowledge of current research trends in instructional technology.
- Considerable knowledge in the use of personal computers iPads Smartboards digital cameras document cameras iPods flip video cameras CDROM and laserdisc resources video production as well as a wide variety of digital resources tools and instructional software.
- Presentation of a comprehensive technology portfolio that exceeds minimal standards and demonstrates the effective use and integration of educational technology as defined by the Virginia Department of Educational Technology Standards for Instructional Personnel.
- Personal characteristics conducive to working effectively with students teachers school personnel community groups and parents.
- Ability to work collaboratively with teachers students and parents.
- Ability to present information in oral and written formats.
Nature of Position
- Facilitates the use of technology for data analysis and tracking student performance.
- Develops and presents inservice sessions explaining emphasizing and encouraging technology integration appropriate to each content area.
- Plans and models lessons for classroom teachers that integrate technology into units of study.
- Demonstrates appropriate classroom management strategies for computer usage and shares such strategies through workshops and video delivery.
- Monitors the extent of technology integration in all classrooms of the assigned schools and provides recommendations for focused professional development.
- Enhances curriculum guides by correlating instructional technology with curriculum developing sample materials developing sample lessons and conducting inservice sessions.
- Shares knowledge and expertise with other ITRTs to allow them to be more effective in the assigned school(s).
- Assists in the analysis design development implementation and evaluation of school and divisionwide technology and staff development initiatives.
- Facilitates the divisions technology plan with assigned school(s) to meet common school and division goals and objectives.
- Provides assistance and support to all NPS instructional programs.
- Facilitates and/or assists with the evaluation of resources in accordance with the NPS Software Review and Procurement Process.
- Facilitates the effective use of available software and determines appropriate curriculum relevance when software is acquired.
- Confers regularly with Library Media Specialist(s) Network Engineer(s) as well as provides necessary guidance and support to cooperatively meet the needs of teachers students parents and principals.
In addition to the base salary listed below this position is eligible for an advanced degree stipend and a specialist stipend.

- Masters Degree 30 Hours: $5400/Year
- Doctoral Degree: $7800/Year

- $85.96/Pay Period $2063.04/Year)
