About the Opportunity
Our EnergyCo Legal team is currently seeking to appoint two Senior Legal Officers to our growing team of legal professionals at the forefront of NSWs energy transition. As a Senior Legal Officer at EnergyCo youll play a key role in supporting major infrastructure and reform projects under the NSW Electricity Infrastructure Roadmap and Network Infrastructure Strategy. EnergyCo Legal is a high performing team the team was awarded InHouse Team of the Year at the 2023 Australasian Law Awards and at the 2024 Australian Law Awards was also shortlisted as a finalist in the Government Team of the Year category of the 2023 and 2024 Lawyers Weekly Corporate Counsel Awards.
Youll provide highquality legal advice on complex transactional commercial and regulatory matters working closely with energy market bodies private sector partners and toptier law firms. This is a rare opportunity to be part of some of the most exciting infrastructure work in the market helping to shape the future of NSWs energy system.
About You
You are a trusted legal advisor with sound experience and ideally bring a strong understanding of the energy or infrastructure sectors. You offer expertise in energy commercial or administrative law with demonstrated experience advising on regulatory and transactional matters relevant to the electricity industryparticularly within the context of government reform and legislative frameworks such as the Electricity Infrastructure Investment Act 2020 and National Electricity Law and Rules.
Analytical and solutionsfocused you excel at translating complex legal issues into practical advice that supports decisionmaking and drives outcomes. Youre confident working across all levels of government and with external stakeholders contributing to major reform and infrastructure projects. Your collaborative style sound judgment and commitment to delivering highquality legal support make you a valuable partner in advancing EnergyCos mission. If you are someone who is comfortable thinking on your feet in a fast paced transactional environment that will require you to juggle multiple projects at the same time we want to hear from you!

Who we are
The Energy Corporation of NSW (EnergyCo) is a statutory corporation established under the Energy and Utilities Administration Act 1987 and governed by its Board appointed by the Minister for Energy. EnergyCo is a Staff Agency employing all EnergyCo staff and is an agency related to the Department of Climate Change Energy the Environment and Water (DCCEEW).
EnergyCo plays a pivotal role in the NSW Governments Electricity Infrastructure Roadmap which aims to transform the states electricity system into one that is cheap clean and reliable. As Infrastructure Planner under the Electricity Infrastructure Investment Act 2020 EnergyCo is responsible for leading the delivery of the States first five Renewable Energy Zones (REZs) and the first two priority transmission infrastructure projects (PTIPs) which are located in the CentralWest Orana New England South West HunterCentral Coast and Illawarra regions. We work closely with communities investors and industry to investigate plan recommend and coordinate generation storage and network infrastructure projects.
