We are looking for a Software Development Manager who can define and lead the technical features and integration points for customerfacing product initiatives within the Amazon apps and the experience on desktops and other devices. This role is crossfunctional and will work collaboratively with engineering product management and design teams across Amazon to define build and deliver new customer experiences for mobile app customers.

The Navigation Experiences (NavX) teams mission is to be an indispensable and trustworthy guide which provides direction and context to Amazon customers at each point in their shopping journey. We are responsible for helping customers get to their destination faster and for making it more fun to shop wherever they are. To support the builders across Amazon we enable partners to specify navigation links and hierarchies through our experiences. As Amazon continues to increase in complexity launch new marketplaces and add new categories programs and modes of shopping we will have an outsized role to play in helping customers find delight in the breadth of Amazon rather than feel lost in the maze of complexity.
Job responsibilities
Lead a team of engineers through daytoday scrum architectural decisions sprint and program planning while leading innovation throughout the team
Work with a high degree of ambiguity
Use creative and analytical skills in developing a product roadmap of new features
Possess excellent writing and verbal communication skills to collaborate in a diverse environment to understand partner team roadmaps and influence other product owners and technical leaders throughout Amazon. Effective communication with external partners is key.
3 years of engineering team management experience
7 years of working directly within engineering teams experience
3 years of designing or architecting (design patterns reliability and scaling) of new and existing systems experience
Knowledge of engineering practices and patterns for the full software/hardware/networks development life cycle including coding standards code reviews source control management build processes testing certification and livesite operations
Experience partnering with product or program management teams
Experience in communicating with users other technical teams and senior leadership to collect requirements describe software product features technical designs and product strategy
Experience in recruiting hiring mentoring/coaching and managing teams of Software Engineers to improve their skills and make them more effective product software engineers
Experience in mobile app development (iOS or Android)

Our compensation reflects the cost of labor across several US geographic markets. The base pay for this position ranges from $166400/year in our lowest geographic market up to $287700/year in our highest geographic market. Pay is based on a number of factors including market location and may vary depending on jobrelated knowledge skills and experience. Amazon is a total compensation company.
