Job Description

TheNorthwest Ohio Educational Service Center (NwOESC) is currently accepting applications for the 202526 school year! We have classrooms in public school districts in Fulton Henry Defiance and Williams counties.

We encourage all senior education majors and soontobe graduates to apply now theres no need to wait until after graduation. We would love the chance to speak with you about joining our team as an Intervention Specialist.

If youre an educator with a general education teaching license and are interested in learning more about our intervention specialist positions we strongly encourage you to apply. Position: This new classroom program located within the Independence Education Center will be designed for students identified with low incidence disabilities including autism.

We are seeking candidates interested in elementary middle or high school classroom assignments.Students will have access to a sensory room and the classroom team will be supported by a behavior consultant specialist related service providers and the building principal.

Qualifications (partial list):

Must hold a proper Ohio Department of Education Intervention Specialist teaching license or be eligible to obtain a supplemental intervention specialist license.

  • Essential Functions (partial list):

    1. Maintains a thorough understanding of subject matter and pedagogy. Organizes subject content and learning goals that support high levels of student achievement.
    • Works closely with other service providers to support unified classroom lessons.
    • Prepares intervention materials. Teaches assigned students as scheduled.
    • Develops and implements lesson plans aligned with intervention goals.
    • Evaluates student academic needs and learning styles.
    • Differentiates instructional techniques to effectively advance student learning.
    • Uses formal and informal assessment strategies to monitor student progress.
    • Uses a datadriven approach to analyze assessments. Provides effective feedback to students.
    • Facilitates Individualized Education Program (IEP) meetings. Prepares draft and final IEPs.
    • Prepares and transmits legally compliant special education documents by required deadlines.
    • Advocates for students. Facilitates inclusive educational opportunities for all students.
    • Evaluates student achievement/performance. Prepares progress reports and/or report cards.
    • Ensures student lists and teaching materials are readily available for substitutes.
    • Uses positive behavioral support techniques.
    1. Exemplifies professionalism to enhance NwOESC and member district public images.
    2. Maintains open/effective communications. Serves as a reliable information resource.
    3. Pursues opportunities to enhance personal performance.

    CONTRACT: Per the 202526 school calendar and beyond. *Opportunities may be available the current 202425 school year as well so if interested please apply!

    LOCATION: The Independence Education Center is located at 06950 Independence Road Defiance Ohio.

    SALARY: Per the adopted salary schedule based on training and experience
