Role Overview
As a Capital Asset Accounting Specialist youll take ownership of asset lifecycle tracking lease accounting operations and related financial processes that support compliance and internal reporting. This is a hands-on role that offers daily engagement with cross-functional teams insight into job costing workflows and the ability to influence both operational data flow and financial integrity. Core Responsibilities

Track and reconcile capital assets throughout their lifecycle from acquisition and capitalization to disposal

Record depreciation lease amortization and asset-related journal entries monthly

Maintain compliance with ASC 842 overseeing lease classification and reporting requirements

Align capital asset records with operational data from Engineering and Service teams

Perform month-end close duties and support multi-entity general ledger reconciliation
-
Review and audit asset and lease transactions for accuracy and completeness
-
Maintain schedules tools and templates used for asset reporting and internal analysis

Investigate discrepancies across asset systems and correct posting issues proactively
-
Provide support on job costing service billing workflows and related accounting functions

Assist in documenting internal processes and recommending system or procedural improvements
Key Qualifications
-
Associates degree in Accounting required; Bachelors preferred

24 years of accounting experience ideally within manufacturing or asset-focused industries
-
Familiarity with GAAP general ledger structure and fixed asset accounting standards

Proficient in Excel comfortable building and interpreting pivot tables formulas and reports

Prior experience with ERP systems (Sage 100 or equivalent is a plus)

Strong organizational skills with the ability to manage multiple priorities with accuracy

Analytical mindset with a curiosity-driven approach to problem-solving
Preferred Experience

Exposure to lease accounting and ASC 842 compliance

Background in manufacturing equipment tracking or cost accounting

Experience supporting job costing and working in cross-functional teams

Familiarity with evolving financial systems or scaling business environments
