Job Description
REPORTS TO: FOOD AND NUTRITION SERVICE MANAGER/BUILDING PRINCIPAL
SUPERVISES: 0 EMPLOYEES
TERMS OF EMPLOYMENT:
9 Month Calendar
Hourly wage and work year to be determined by the 501 Board of Education
Works 57.5 hours per day in a Middle or High School Kitchen
Must attend and successfully complete Food Safety Basics class within the first six months of employment and once every 5 years
QUALIFICATIONS:
High School Diploma or GED
More advanced math skills including multiplication and division
Ability to read and write the English language
Demonstrate knowledge of food safety basics
Ability to lift 50 pounds occasionally
Ability to stand up to 7.5 hours
Knowledge of portion sizes
Ability to work well with others
PRINCIPAL DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES:
To prepare and/or cook food in a kitchen serve food to a cafeteria tray line and perform cleaning activities. May assist in the effective overall operations of the Food and Nutrition Services Program at different kitchen locations as needed.
- Preparation of food items
- Prepare food carts
- Set food in steam tables
- Serve food
- Run FastLane Software
- Clean and Sanitize all food service areas and equipment
- Maintain and order supplies as needed
- Unloading and putting away stock
- Take and document temperatures
- Prepare for next day
- Wash dishes pots and pans as needed
- Other duties as assigned
