The Sturm College of Law seeks applications from members of its fulltime faculty to participate in its study abroad program in Sorrento Italy to be held from May 24 to June 13 2024. We anticipate engaging two to three faculty members to teach in the Program one of whom will also serve as the Programs Director for an additional stipend.
Director
Beginning in early 2024 the Director will work closely with the Executive Associate Dean of Academic Affairs on a variety of Programrelated matters including compliance with the ABA Criteria for Programs Offered by ABAApproved Law Schools in a Location Outside of the United States curricular and cocurricular items Programrelated communications orientation and responses to feedback from former students. The Director will also be responsible for onsite management of the Program throughout its duration and for the coordination and management of other Programrelated activities including field trips to offsite locations. The Director will also teach a class in the program as one of the teaching faculty.
Teaching Faculty
Teaching faculty will teach a twocredit course with an international or comparative focus and fully participate in Programrelated activities. Classes are typically scheduled from Monday to Thursday. Applications should include a oneparagraph course description and a syllabus outline.
Compensation
The Director will receive a stipend of $5000 in addition to their compensation for teaching.
Teaching faculty will receive a stipend of $5000 designed to compensate for their instructional efforts and for their full participation in Programrelated activities.
Faculty participants will also be compensated in the form of 1 one roundtrip flight from Denver to Italy; 2 suitable ground transportation; and 3 a housing and meal stipend subject to applicable Sturm College of Law policies.
The University of Denver has provided a compensation range that represents its good faith estimate of what the University may pay for the position at the time of posting. The University may ultimately pay more or less than the posted compensation range. The compensation offered to the selected candidate will be determined based on factors such as the qualifications of the selected candidate departmental budget availability internal salary equity considerations and available market information but not based on a candidates sex or any other protected status.
