Qualifications:
Education/Certification
- Masters degree required
- Texas teaching and counseling certification required
- School Safety experience preferred
- Federal/State grant experience preferred
- McKinneyVento experience preferred

Major Responsibilities and Duties:
- Communicates effectively to provide uptodate information to district/campus personnel regarding developments initiatives and priorities at the state and federal level
- Provides training and technical assistance to districts regarding federal Title IVA grant programs including federal program updates Outcomes and Measurable Objectives Use of Funds Application and Compliance.
- Provides training and technical assistance to districts on State grants related to school safety i.e. School Safety Allotment SAFE Cycle 1 and 2 Safety Standards Formula Grant
- Provides training technical assistance and support with Emergency Operation Plans (EOP) Standard Response protocol (SRP) Standard Reunification Method (SRM) School Safety Teams and Threat Assessment Teams for districts
- Provides support and assistance related to school safety issues
- Monitors legislative changes and TEA guidance to proactively assess impact on district safety protocols and funding eligibility and communicates actionable summaries to stakeholders.
- Coordinates services and trainings with other Region 16 departments as related to school safety i.e. health technology PEIMS counseling
- Plans and oversees the annual Region 16 School Safety Summit including key notes breakouts vendors and participants related to current safety and mental health concerns
- Maintains knowledge and skills in the area of school safety and mental health by engaging in ongoing professional development
- Collaborates with the CTE/CCMR Lead to develop professional development for CCMR
- Provides CCMR technical assistance for LEAs
- Assists in organizing Why Teach Middle School Career Fair High School College and Career Fair CTE Conference
- Collaborates with the Regional Convener Lead and the Northwest Texas Innovation Zone Specialist
- Provide guidance and technical assistance to LEAs to ensure compliance with the McKinneyVento Act and related Texas Education Agency policies
- Support school districts in the identification and immediate enrollment of students experiencing homelessness
- Foster partnerships with community organizations shelters social service agencies and other entities to enhance services for students experiencing homelessness
- Helps coordinate the Region 16 Crisis Response Team
- Travels as a part of job responsibilities
- Maintains a functioning cell phone and is accessible through this phone as deemed appropriate by the service area director A functioning cell phone means that it is charged activated messages checked and mailbox emptied regularly
- Reports for work ready to perform responsibilities
- Performs duties that directly and/or indirectly impact student performance in Region
- Maintains a professional level of confidentiality regarding all ESC matters
- Supports the mission goals and objectives of the ESC strategic plan
- Upholds and adheres to safety rules and policies of the ESC safety program
- Performs professional responsibilities as required by ESC policies processes and procedures
- Manages time calendar and job responsibilities to meet deadlines
- Meets proficiency levels of required technology skills as outlined by supervisor
- Incorporates appropriate technology in daily work and exhibits continual growth in technologies as outlined by supervisor.
