Job Description
- Develop implement and monitor special education programs understate and federal laws.
- Oversee theIndividualized Education Program (IEP)process ensuring compliance and effectiveness.
- Supervise mentor and provide professional development for special education teachers and support staff.
- Collaborate with school leadership general education teachers and families to ensure appropriate accommodations and modifications are in place.
- Manage special education budgets and resources effectively.
- Conduct student evaluations assessments and eligibility determinations.
- Serve as a liaison between the school parents and external agencies to coordinate services.
- Stay uptodate withbest practices policies and legal requirementsin special education.
- Advocate for students with disabilities and foster an inclusive school culture.
- Masters degreein Special Education Educational Leadership or a related field.
- Valid New Mexico administrative licenseor eligibility to obtain one.
- Minimum ofthree 3 years of experiencein special education with leadership or administrative experience preferred.
- Strong knowledge ofspecial education laws IEP development and instructional strategies.
- Excellent leadership organizational and communication skills.
- Experience working in acharter school environmentis a plus.
