Global Transportation Services:

GTS is short for Global Transportation Services. We design the connectivity and flow in the transportation network. In other words we own the journey of all packages from first mile outbound docks through middle mile connections and into final mile delivery. We work directly with our internal and external carriers to optimize package delivery. We invent and simplify the transportation network utilizing three key metrics: Speed Delivery Estimate Accuracy (DEA) and Cost. GTS includes the teams in North America known as NA Trans.

GL is short for Global Logistics. We eliminate borders for buyers and sellers and facilitate Amazons expansion into a rapidly growing list of countries. We work with merchants sellers providers governments and trade officials from the busiest to the most remote locations around the world applying a global perspective with a local approach.

Role Overview
Depending on your experience interests and business needs you will own the backend or full stack design and development of product features building scale efficiency and differentiated customer experiences. Were looking for software engineers passionate about building software solutions endtoend have strong software development experience delivering at scale solutions and systems design skills.

You should have a demonstrated ability delivering within a DevOps delivery model from scoping requirements requirement analysis design development test CI/CD security implementation and operational excellence with the ability to work crossfunctionally with Product Managers business stakeholders and other tech teams through the actual launch of the project. You should also have experience in communicating with users other technical teams and management to collect requirements describe software product features and technical designs.

Key Responsibilities
Design develop and maintain scalable software solutions that meet business requirements and customer needs
Lead technical solutions from conception through deployment including architecture decisions and implementation strategies
Participate in full software development lifecycle including requirement analysis design development testing deployment and operations
Collaborate with crossfunctional teams including Product Managers Technical Program Managers and other engineering teams
Mentor junior engineers and contribute to improving teams technical practices
Write highquality welltested code following best practices and coding standards
Participate in code reviews and contribute to technical documentation
Drive operational excellence through monitoring troubleshooting and continuous improvement

3 years of noninternship professional software development experience
2 years of noninternship design or architecture (design patterns reliability and scaling) of new and existing systems experience
Experience programming with at least one software programming language

3 years of full software development life cycle including coding standards code reviews source control management build processes testing and operations experience
Bachelors degree in computer science or equivalent

Our compensation reflects the cost of labor across several US geographic markets. The base pay for this position ranges from $129300/year in our lowest geographic market up to $223600/year in our highest geographic market. Pay is based on a number of factors including market location and may vary depending on jobrelated knowledge skills and experience. Amazon is a total compensation company.
