We are seeking a highly motivatedindividualto join the Kite Developments Business Operations Team asAssociate Director Clinical Trial Costing and Analysis Lead.

You will be accountable forleadingthe budgeting and forecasting process for a defined part of the Cell Therapy clinical portfolio. The role will oversee the analysis of financial drivers of clinical cost and make recommendations to ensure cost efficiency. You will play a critical role in managing the accuracy of clinical trial forecasts on an ongoing basis and a key partner with Finance tofacilitatethe biannual clinical trial latest estimate process. You will play a critical role in establishingextensive behaviorsprocesses andtoolsto transform how weimplementand monitor the costing of clinical trials and optimize financial oversight. You will lead the development and maintenance of materials and training for multiple stakeholder groups. This role reports to the Kite Development Business Operations Director.

Responsibilities

  • Lead the forecasting process and the financial oversight of Cell Therapy assets
  • Collaboratewith study teams to accurately forecast clinical spend validate vendor and site activities for accrual purposes
  • Thoroughunderstandingof clinical cost drivers and ability to forecast clinical spend over study life cyclerequired. Ability to model scenarios and provide guidance to teams regarding material cost drivers and potential design inefficiencies.
  • Supportsdetailed study estimate process capturing external Clinical Trial Costs to include CRO Site Sites Central & Specialty Labs Imaging comparator drug etc.
  • Colead the oversight off various financial aspects of external clinical trial spend such as the management of accruals purchase order/invoice latest estimate processes development of site budget and study budget scenarios tosupportgovernance & planning
  • Supportslong range planning scenario analysis and provides inputs tosupportthe annual planning review cycle
  • Lead conversations with study team and Clinical DevelopmentLeadershipto discuss current cost drivers and optimize study performance financials
  • Provide adhoc analysis and projectsupportfor budget governance
  • Demonstratesunderstandingof Accounting and Finance practices pertinent to Clinical Development
  • May oversee the work of contractors and serve as a line manager

Basic Qualifications

  • Doctorate and 2 years of experience in development/study budgeting forecasting or financial analysis OR
  • Masters Degree and 8 years of experience in development/study budgeting forecasting or financial analysis OR
  • Bachelors Degree and 10 years of in development/study budgeting forecasting or financial analysis OR
  • High School Diploma/GED and 14 years of in development/study budgeting forecasting or financial analysis
  • Minimum of 3 years of working in the biotech or pharmaceutical industry specifically clinical development
  • Excellent analytical and critical thinking skills with a demonstrated ability to transform complex data into actionable insights
  • Ability to collaborate effectively in a dynamic crossfunctional matrix environment
  • Effective communication skills with the ability to explain complex financial information to nonfinancial stakeholders

Preferred Qualifications

  • Strong understanding inproject managementprinciplesand technical applications such as ExcelSharePoint PowerPoint SAP SAP Analytics Cloud
  • 3 years of working in the biotech or pharmaceutical industry specifically clinical development
  • Thoroughunderstandingof Drug Development and theimplementationof clinical trials
  • Experience with clinical trials budgeting and costing tools; required
  • Experienceguidingand facilitatingcrossfunctionalteam discussions
  • Handson experience withchange management includingguidingstructured and significantchangeefforts within teams and departments serving as achangeagent and history of motivating others to deliver and effect change while maintaining a positive transparent andcollaborativeteamenvironment
  • Significant experience and skill in strategiccommunicationsacross theorganization
  • Demonstratedability in framing and solvingcomplexproblems and thecritical thinkingability to interpret and communicate them effectively
  • Ability to synthesize costing analysis and summarize recommendations for seniorleaders
  • Ability towork independentlyand with minimal supervision
  • Ability to operate and produce at a high level within timelines and scope
  • Demonstrates comfort with ambiguity and changing business priorities
  • Highemotionalintelligence with demonstrated ability toengagestakeholders effectively facilitate discussions and successfully negotiate through challenging situations anddifficult conversations
  • A team player who can align and own shared goals while being flexible and skillful to achieve desired results
  • Excellentinterpersonal written and verbalcommunication skillsalong with the ability to workcollaborativelyin a matrixedenvironment


The salary range for this position is: $165495.00 $214170.00. Kite considers a variety of factors when determining base compensation including experience qualifications and geographic location. These considerations mean actual compensation will vary. This position may also be eligible for a discretionary annual bonus discretionary stockbased longterm incentives (eligibility may vary based on role) paid time off and a benefits package. Benefits include companysponsored medical dental vision and life insurance plans*.
