This is a fantastic opportunity to join Birmingham City Councils Housing Management service and provide a real difference for the tenants of this city.


This is an opportunity to join the Estate services Team as a GR3 Neighbourhood Officer. This is a vital role within our service providing estate neighbourhood services and visiting service to our tenants.

You may also be deployed into other Neighbourhood Officer roles within the Housing Management services.

Roles may be based across the South of the city.

In this role you will be working within the estate neighbourhoods and engaging with tenants/citizens with a view to improving and maintaining clean and green neighbourhoods. The role is based around estate service it is important that you can manage different enquiries of Housing Management daily and are able to problem solve effectively to resolve issues at the earliest opportunity.

Provide advice assistance and problem solving on all aspects of the housing service during customer interactions including face to face interviews home visits telephone calls inline email and written correspondence social media community meetings and council business meetings. Contribute to the production of regular newsletters annual reports and social media postings etc.

Work in collaboration with Neighbourhood estate team housing management teams and stakeholders to ensure that a high standard of service delivery to our residents and communities.

The roles all report to a GR4 Housing Officers who form part of a team.

There is an element of investigation and signposting with this role including referrals to third parties.

It is preferred to have experience of Housing and the relevant legislation however training on all policies and procedures will be provided as well as training on systems.

Full drivers license preferred but not essential.

Housing related experience desirable. Training on system and policies will be provided.
