Coaching - HS Boys Varsity Head Basketball Coach

JOB RESPONSIBILITIES:

• Serve as the Program Director/Varsity Head Coach for the Boys Basketball Program.
• Develop and train studentathletes to play competitive Basketball.
• Monitor motivate supervise and mentor studentathletics on and off the Court.
• Instruct/guide studentathletes in fundamental skills strategies and physical training necessary for them to realize a degree of individual and team success.
• Instruct and guide studentathletes to lead them to the formulation and enhancement of moral values pride of accomplishments acceptable social behavior and selfconfidence.
• Foster teamwork sportsmanship and skills development.
• Manage game day strategies and logistics.
• Ensure the safety and wellbeing of studentathletes.
• Cooperate in a timely manner with School Athletic Director and the District Athletic Department in regard to requests for information that might be pertinent and/or periodically required.
• Meet all requirements set forth by the District Board of Education the Ohio High School Athletic Association (OHSAA) and the Ohio Department of Education (ODE) relative to the mandated coaching requirements (Coaches Tool Chest (CTC) Training/Certification and ODE Pupil Activity Permit (PAP).
• Check the status of academic eligibility for all prospective studentathletes.
• Follow the District Athletic Department Policies as outlined in the Coaches Handbook and meet all criteria as outlined in the job description.
• Model the behavior expected of our studentathletes including timeliness to practices and games being positive and enthusiastic being respectful and practicing constructive criticism while upholding the disciplines of the program.
• Maintain a suitable sideline conduct including the use of appropriate language at all times.
• Accept and profit from constructivecriticism and suggestions for improving coaching performance.
• Recognize the need to be aware of and implement all applicable administrative polices set forth by the District Board of Education Superintendents of Schools School Principals Conference Leagues ODE and OHSAA.
• Provide all applicable inseason training rules as well as any that may apply to outofseason conduct to studentathletes prior to the start of the season. Follow appropriate due process procedures when violations occur.
• Participate in Clinics and other available programs to improve coaching performance.
• Participate in School events (i.e. Awards Night Pep Assemblies Athletic Boosters Meetings etc).
• Ensure that team is wellprepared for opponents.
• Maintain accurate inventory of equipment and supplies.

SKILLS/QUALIFICATIONS:

• Fundraising experience.
• Must be passionate and dedicated to inspire studentathletes.
• Previous basketball coaching experience required.
• Have the ability to motivate and inspire studentathletes.
• Serve as a positive role model.
• Demonstrated knowledge and skills associated with the sport.

TRAINING/CERTIFICATIONS:

• Ohio Secondary Teaching Certificate preferred.
• Evidence of a successful past coaching experience required.
• Provide satisfactory resultof County Police Records Check State BCII Check and a FBI Fingerprint Background Check.
• Possess an Ohio Department of Education (ODE) Pupil Activity Permit (PAP).
• Provide proof of completion of CoachesTool Chest (CTC) Training/Certification.

CONTRACT PROVISIONS:

TYPE OF CONTRACT:Supplemental Annual Limited

SALARY: Per Schedule E Contract of current C.F.T. Labor Agreement

REPORTS TO: School Principal
