Title: Literacy Coach (3 openings)Reports To:Principal or designeeLocation: Elementary Middle and High SchoolThis is a grant-funded position contingent upon continued funding through the Comprehensive Literacy State Development Grant (4-year grant period).FSLA Status: ExemptGENERAL DESCRIPTION: The Literacy Coach(s) will support the implementation of Ohios Comprehensive Literacy State Development Grant. The coach will guide educators in applying evidence-based literacy strategies aligned with Ohios Plan to Raise Literacy Achievement and the science of reading with a focus on improving literacy outcomes for all : Collaborate with school teams to implement evidence-based literacy practices aligned with the science of in the development and implementation of the Local Literacy Plan based on a comprehensive needs the integration of high-impact instructional strategies and interventions with moderate or strong levels of multi-level support through instructional coaching with an emphasis on disciplinary : Valid Ohio teaching license (K12 Reading Endorsement preferred)Minimum 3 years of successful classroom teaching experience in reading/language artsDemonstrated knowledge of evidence-based literacy instruction and the science of readingExperience working with diverse student populations including students from low-income backgroundsOTHER PREFERRED QUALIFICATIONS:Experience in instructional coaching or professional developmentMasters degree in Education Literacy Curriculum and Instruction or related fieldFamiliarity with Ohios Plan to Raise Literacy Achievement and current state literacy initiatives.
